Russian Federal News Agency reported on the
18th that Rospotrebnadzor, the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer
Rights Protection and Human Welfare, recently plans to strengthen the control of food labels containing allergen
information, such as milk, gluten and the nuts.
Anna
Popova, head of Rospotrebnadzor’s department, pointed out: The ingredients on
food labels must truly reflect the use of raw materials and additives used in
food. However, the accuracy of information about allergens contained in labels
is worrying in many cases, which brings potential risks to the population in
atopy.
The head also pointed out that the price is very high whether the Manufacturer intentionally mislabeled the allergen information or unintentionally, because it will seriously affect the Buyer’s health and even endanger his life.
