Hazel Nut, known as “King of Nuts”, is one of the four favorite nuts of people. This reputation is closely related to its abundant nutritive value. Compared with other nuts, it has many outstanding advantages.

Hazel nuts have abundant monounsaturated fatty acid and polyunsaturated fatty acids. In total fats of hazel nuts, the monounsaturated fatty acid accounts for 77.7% and polyunsaturated fatty acid accounts for 9.5%. The monounsaturated fatty acid helps reduce low-concentration lipoprotein, and can favorably prevent from cardiovascular disease. The polyunsaturated fatty acid can generate DHA, which is known as brain gold, after entering human body. DHA can improve memory, judgment, optic nerve and make people cleverer.

Thus, hazel nuts are particularly suitable for white-collar workers who work with computers all day long. In addition, hazel nuts have all 8 kinds of amino acids required by human body, and the content is far higher than that of walnut. The hazel nuts are rich of arginine and aspartic acid. These two kinds of acids can increase the arginase activity so as to eliminate ammonia in blood, prevent from cancer, boost immunity and allay tiredness. Moreover, the contents of Ca, P and Fe in hazel nuts are higher than those in other nuts. Per 100g hazel nuts contain 216mg Ca, as three times as that in almond and four times as that in walnuts; 556mg P, higher than that in other nuts; 8.6mg Fe, about 1-3 times as that in other nuts. One person had better eat 20 grains of hazel nuts every time. Those whose liver function is seriously unhealthy do not eat hazel nuts.
