The Atkins Diet is from Dr. Atkins from the USA. For the Atkins Diet, firstly carbohydrate shall be restricted. A handful of pecans (about 1 pound or 20 pieces) only contain 4g carbohydrate, lower than most of other foods.

The same as fish, egg, beans and meat, pecan belongs to the natural carbohydrate affirmed in Food Guide Pyramid issued by the United States Department of Agriculture. Meanwhile, 90% fat of pecans is unsaturated fat, which can hinder fat accumulation, add satiety, and can support lose weight favorably. It can also prevent from cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases of the obese people.
