As reported by foreign media, the food allergy cases inconvenience to life. The peanut allergy is the first killer causing death cases in USA about food allergy. Experts used to call on parents to try to reduce the touch of infants with sensitized food. However, the latest study published on New England Journal of Medicine shows that regularly eating a few peanut products in childhood can help children reduce or avoid suffering from peanut allergy.

The research team carried out a five-year observation for 640 four-month to 11-month infants in England who are deemed as infants with high peanut allergy risks.

The scientists divided the infants into two groups at random. The infants in one group at least eat 6g peanut protein (equaling to 24 peanuts) every week while the infants in the other group avoided eating peanut products. The result shows that the proportion of infants who avoided eating peanuts but finally got peanut allergy is 17.2% while that of infants who regularly eat peanuts is only 3.2%.

The study shows that eating peanuts regularly can help young children avoid the immune system from being oversensitive to peanut protein. The team now is further observing to see whether the infants who regularly eat peanuts can continue to maintain non-allergy status if they stop eating peanuts for a while. The results are expected to be released later this year.

However experts suggest that parents shall not suddenly stop feeding their children with peanuts. They worry some children may generate strong reaction. The parents shall firstly inquire the doctors.
