Research Report: Walnut is the King of Nuts!

USA scientists said that the walnut is the healthiest of all the nuts, and it is recommended to eat more walnuts as part of a healthy diet. The scientists from Pennsylvania told the American Chemical Society that, when compared with other nuts, the antioxidant substance content of walnut content is the highest, and the antioxidant substance will help body to resist cancer.

The scientists said that all nuts have rich nutrition; but compared with the peanut, Pecan, and pistachio, the walnut is healthier. Dr. Joe Vinson from the University of Scranton analyzed the antioxidant content of nine different types of nuts and found out that the antioxidant content of a handful of walnuts is double that of other common nuts. He also found out that the quality and effectiveness of antioxidant in the walnut are better than that of other kinds of nuts. The antioxidant has good effectiveness, because it can occur in oxidation and prevent damaged cells’ further chain reaction in the body. The researches have shown that the antioxidant effectiveness in the walnut is 2-15 times of vitamin E, while the people usually recognize vitamin E can protect the body from natural chemical damages leading to disease.

The nut is healthy and nutritious, which contains high quality protein, and rich vitamins, minerals and dietary fiber but no milk or gluten content. The previous researches have shown that long-term consumption of small amounts of nuts can effectively reduce the risk of heart disease and some types of cancer, type 2 diabetes and other health problems.

Dr Vinson said that, there is another advantage to select the walnut as an antioxidant capture source: “The heat arising from nut roasting under general conditions will reduce the antioxidant content. While people often eat raw or unbaked walnut, so they can more effectively obtain the antioxidants.'
