Explanation Why the “Biantaohe (Biantaoren)” Product Labeling Can be “Badanmu” Made by the Commission to the China Food and Drug Administration and the State Administration for Industry & Commerce of the People’s Republic of China
Whereas, among the Import and Export Tariff of the People's Republic of China enforced from January 1, 2014, the Chinese name of “Almond” under Item 0802 was officially renamed from “Badanxing” to “Biantaoren”;
In addition, recently, the Commission has continuously received feedbacks from enterprises, indicating that due to the labeling of “Badanmu”, some customers and food-related enforcement departments misunderstood and questioned “Biantaohe (Biantaoren) products” produced by enterprises of nuts and roasted seeds. To dispel such misunderstanding, better guide the consumption and benefit the impartial enforcement, on December 17, 2013, a written explanation was made by the Commission to the China Food and Drug Administration and the State Administration for Industry & Commerce of the People's Republic of China, with the document form of Zhong Shi Jian Chao Wei [2013] No. 48, indicating that “Biantaohe (Biantaoren) product labeling can be “Badanmu”. A copy of such written explanation was also made for the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, Department of Circulation Industry Development.
