The official website of AQSIQ reveals that the newly-revised National Food Safety Standard General Hygienic Regulation for Food Production will replace the previous General Hygienic Regulation for Food Enterprises and it will take effect in June.
The General Hygienic Regulation for Food Production is the basic requirements and hygiene requirements. This standard follows the principle of “Prevention-oriented, scientific supervision”, fully draw on the international established practice and scientifically analyze the possible risks in food safety of food production. It materializes the the Food Safety Law and its enforcement regulations in the management of food production, and is the technical base of the supervision of food safety.
The revision emphasizes the controlling demand of food safety in food production process such as sources, processing, products storage and transportation, and it formulated major measures to counter biological, chemical and physical contamination; it revamps the relevant content of production facilities, and make requirements for equipment layout, texture and design form the perspective of preventing biological, chemical and physical contamination; it increases requirements for the sourcing, acceptance, transportation and storage; it increases requirements for products tracing and recall; it increases requirements for record and file management. It will exert a further significance on food hygiene and food safety from the source.
