On Jan. 16, 2014, the National Health and Family Planning Commission of PRC (NHFPC), China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) and Ministry of Agriculture (MA) jointly held press release to especially report the food safety issues and deploy for the next step.
So far, the over 5000 existing food safety standards in China have been rearranged.
As of the end of 2013, the national routine monitoring network has covered 150 cities and 87 detecting parameters.
Su Zhi, the Chief of NHFPC Department of Food Safety Standard, Monitoring and Evaluation revealed after the press release that at present, the primary plan for the establishment of this national food safety standard institution has come into being. If established smoothly, the mode of council management will be adopted for the specific operation.
