On June 23, the amendment draft of the food safety law (the draft hereby) is proposed to the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress for review, and this is an important modification made by the legislative body of China to this important livelihood law since its implementation in 2009.
According to the introduction, the draft maintained the basic frame of the current food safety law, made important modifications to some articles, defined that the food manufacturer and operator shall be the first responsible persons for food safety, improved the food tracking system, and added a lot of articles for health foods, infant formula foods and online food trading.
