In the sixth Cross-Strait Food Industry Cooperation and Exchange Meeting held on July 29, Guo Xiang, the Head of Consumer Goods Industry Division of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology pointed out in his themed speech of “Current Situations and Healthy Transformation of Mainland Food Industry” that the mainland food industry development is restricted by the following three aspects.
Firstly, in view of industrial organization, the large and medium-sized enterprises are less with small scale and low intensification level. The small, scattered and low pattern has not been changed thoroughly, and the microenterprises and individual workshops still account for 80% of the total industry.
Secondly, in view of safety guarantee conditions, the effective connection among food processing enterprise raw material guarantee, good processing and product marketing is insufficient; food quality standard system is imperfect, and the inspection and monitoring technology guarantee capacity is to be strengthened.
Thirdly, in view of enterprise quality improvement, honesty, morality and culture construction is laggard behind, and minority food producers lack of morality and honesty. The quality safety still has loopholes.
