        In August, the white apricot of Kuche County, Xinjiang gained the certificate of agricultural products geographical indication of the Ministry of Agriculture, and becomes the first agricultural product gaining the first geographical indication. 

       The apricot planting history in Kuche County is about two thousand years, and now over 20 varities are left. The white apricot planting protection area gaining certificate is 10667 ha., and annual output is 156800 ton.

      The insiders say the certificate of agricultural products geographical indication is of great significance to protect intellectual property rights of harmers, and promote standardization of agricultural products quality and agricultural industrialization, and injects new power to the development of white apricot industry in Kuche County.
