According to Taiwan Central News Agency, Taiwan is planned to discuss the draft amendment of the Administrative Law on Feed in October. Positive listings will be adopted for feed and feed additive. In addition, the border checkpost will be strengthened and the food tractability system will be established.

The draft regulates the adoption of positive listings of feed and feed additive. The central governing authority released that non-noticed feed and feed additive are not allowed to be used which should be distinguished from the items with certificate of manufacture or import registration.

The draft definitely strengthens the border checkpost; revises the punishment against the violation of border inspection and other actions; establishes the tractability system; and regulates that the feed or feed additive could only pass the customs clearance after being qualified of the inspection exercised by the central governing authority.

The draft further regulates that the genetically modified feed and feed additive must pass and be approved by the inspection exercised by the central governing authority before manufacture, import or export.
