On October 13, 2014, the Information Office of State Council held a press conference on the situation of import and export in the first three quarters 2014. Zheng Yuesheng, the spokesman of Bureau of Customs and the Director General of Comprehensive Statistics Department, introduced the related situation. The main status of Chinese foreign trade import and export in the first three quarters 2014 are:
First, the import and export have been taking a turn for the better quarter by quarter.
Second, the general trade is experiencing a steady growth and the processing trade is slightly increased.
Third, the bilateral trade to the major trading partners is growing.
Fourth, the proportion of Guangdong, Jiangsu, and other seven provinces and cities in foreign trade was declined. The foreign trade exports still remain strong momentum in the Midwest area.
Fifth, the growth in import and export lay in foreign investment enterprises and private enterprises, and the state-owned enterprises show a slightly decline.
Sixth, the mechanical and electrical products export see a slightly growth, and the traditional labor-intensive products export represent a substantial increase.
Seventh, the import of energy resource products sees an increase in the quantity and decrease in price.
Eighth, the export leading index shows the slightly reduction of export pressure at the end of the year.
