In September, 2014, the General Office of the National Health and Family Planning Commission issued a letter on the Local Food Safety Standards and Guidelines for the Record to further regulate local food safety standards according to food safety laws and its implementation regulations, Local Food Safety Standards Management Approach and Guiding Opinions on the Work of Strengthening Food Safety Standards.

      The main content of local food safety standards includes: Names, scope of application, terms and definitions, technical requirements on food product standards, and relevant requirements on local standards for food inspection methods shall refer to relevant regulations of national food safety standards and food production.
