69297 sets of plastic machinery were exported from China during the whole year of 2012, with a total amount of USD 1618.868 million (with a year-on-year growth of 10.5%), while the growth rate fell by 17.9% when compared with that of 2011. 10482 sets of plastic machinery were imported, with a total amount of USD 2126.35 million, and the import quantity and amount were reduced on year-on-year basis, and the import amount was decreased by 2.4% on year-on-year basis. The plastic machinery trade deficit during the whole year of 2012 was USD 507.485 million, which was sharply reduced when compared with that of 2011.

10052 sets of plastic machinery was imported by China in 2013, with the import amount of about USD 1.82 billion, which were reduced by 4% and 15% on year-on-year basis; for the exports, 135213 sets of plastic machinery were exported from China in 2013, with the export amount of about USD 1.72 billion (with year-on-year growth of 94% and 7% respectively). In the first half year of 2014, 4156 sets of plastic machinery were exported by China, with a year-on-year growth of 63%; the import amount was USD 398.65 million, with a year-on-year growth of 18%.

The “Twelfth Five-year” Development Plan of China plastic machinery industry will list the precision casting equipment, energy-saving plastic molding and processing equipment, and other six major fields as development priorities. By 2015, the plastic machinery industry in China will hold a number of core technologies with independent intellectual property rights; develop a number of domestically leading and internationally advanced key products; promote a number of industrial clusters with distinctive and famous brands, and foster a batch of large-scale enterprises with industry driving force and international competitiveness, so as to make large plastic machinery industry stronger.
