Before December 22, the 12th meeting group of the 12th Standing Committee of the National People's Congress examined the revised draft of the Food Safety Law (hereinafter referred to as the “second review draft”).
When compared with the first draft submitted six months ago, the second review draft has been modified significantly in accordance with the appeal of prevention first, establishing and improving the food safety risk monitoring and evaluation, and it has 145 articles now from the former 159 articles. The part of the “national food safety standard” has been modified significantly.
During reporting modification conditions of the revised draft of the Food Safety Law, Cong Bin, the deputy chairman of the committee of the National People's Congress disclosed that, in the second review, relevant integration regulations of the current edible agricultural product quality and safety standard, food hygiene standard, and food quality standard in the currently first draft have been deleted.
