On December 16, the Ministry of Finance issued news: Since 2015, China will apply the temporary import tariff rate lower than the most favoured nation tariff for part of the imported commodities. The product which is applied with the temporary import tariff rate and the further reduced tax rate include four categories: The category 4 product which has reduced tax rate includes: Macadamia nut. After adjustment, the tariff rate of raw and cooked macadamia nuts is 24% and 10% respectively.
     The industry insider think, the macadamia nut has larger domestic demand, but domestic planting quantity is less. An important reason to reduce the tariff is the intention to meet the domestic consumption demand.
