At present, the city has a walnut planting area of 550000 mu, walnut tree 12000000, with an annual output of up to 20000 tons of walnut, walnut exports accounted for the province's ratio as high as 80%. In September,2008, "Fenzhou walnut" was named the national protection of geographical indication products by the State Quality Inspection Administration.
