In the second plenary meeting of the food safety commission under the State Council, the deputy premier of the State Council and the food safety commission director under the State Council, Zhang Gaoli stressed that, the food safety situation is still difficult, risks remain, supervision capability is still insufficient and it will take a long time to ensure the food safety. Since 2010, China Food Science and Technology Academy, International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST) and the national food safety risk assessment center have held the “International Food Safety Conference” in Beijing for five consecutive years under the great support of the State Council and relevant ministries and commissions, which have received high attention from the food industry colleagues at home and abroad.

It is reported that the “2015 International Food Safety Conference” will be held in Beijing during the period of April 22-23, 2015, which will be intended to solve three hotspots and difficulties of China’s food safety, namely, microbial contamination, raw material source, food adulteration as well as refer to wisdom of experts at home and abroad and excellent enterprises’ management experience, so as to provide technical support and strong power to the government supervision and industry development.
