Since start of application of making Luanxian County peanut as a product under protection by the National Geographical Indication in September 2013, with the help of the province quality supervision bureau and great efforts, material application has been completed as scheduled and application has been approved with its unique natural advantages and high quality.

Luanxian County peanut cultivation has a long history; its pod is clean and plump; the peanut seed has bright and clean surface, pink skin and non-greasy taste, which has enjoyed a good reputation for a long time. In 1986, Luanxian County was identified as a high-quality peanut production base and peanut export base system construction base by the state; in 1995, Luanxian County was approved as the pilot county of the first batch of Chinese commodity oil production bases by the Ministry of Agriculture. In 1997, Luanxian County peanut was named as the famous and special product by the Ministry of Agriculture; in 1999, it was identified as the brand-name product of “99 China International Agricultural Expo”. In 2000, “Donglu peanut” was named as the famous agricultural product in the International Agricultural Expo which was held in Beijing. In 2001, it won the excellent innovation award in the Science and Technology Innovation Arena Contest which was jointly held by China Agricultural Society and CCTV; in 2002, it was identified as the famous product in the sixth China (Langfang) Agricultural Product Fair.
