Dali (Chinese Walnut Township) had a Total Walnut Output Value of Nearly 8.5 Billion, with a 30% Growth in Last Year

On February 28, Yunnan Dali Prefecture Forestry Administration reported that the total output value of Dali walnut industry was 8.491 billion yuan in 2014, with a nearly 30% year-on-year growth .

By the end of 2014, Dali walnut planting area was 10.15 million mu and total output, total output value and rural per capita walnut income amounted to 0.2957 million tons, 8.491 billion yuan and 2784 yuan respectively, with a year-on-year growth of 42.9%, 28.3% and 42.9% respectively.

In recent 5 years, Dali Prefecture has invested 191 million yuan for walnut industry development, with a science and technology investment of nearly 9 million yuan.

Dali has a 1000-year history of walnut planting. Its Yangbi County has won the title of “Chinese Walnut Hometown” with its walnut with large size, thin shell, thick nut, good taste and high oil yield.
