China Food and Drug Administration has delivered the information that the Administrative Measures for Food Recall is to be applied on September 1, 2015.
Level I recall: Food that has or may have led to severe health damage or death. The recall is to be initiated within 24 hours after the food security risk is informed, and is to be completed within 10 workdays.
Level II recall: Food that has or may have led to general health damage or death. The recall is to be initiated within 48 hours after the food security risk is informed, and is to be completed within 20 workdays.
Level III recall: Food with false labels and identifications. The recall is to be initiated within 72 hours after the food security risk is informed, and is to be completed within 30 workdays.
Unsafe foods with hazardous additives such as inedible materials, deteriorated materials, deceased livestock that will put human health and safety in danger shall be destroyed on the spot immediately.
