It’s reported by the Ministry of Agriculture on July 7, the e-commerce of agricultural products in China has developed rapidly in recent years, and the network transaction scale has realized the double growth; according to preliminary estimate, the network turnover of national agricultural products exceeded 100 billion Yuan last year, accounting for 3% of the sales of agricultural products.

Statistics show that the current number of e-commerce platforms related to agriculture in China exceeds 3,000, which grows rapidly. At the same time, means of agricultural production and e-commerce of leisure agriculture has also started.

The Ministry of Agriculture reported that, agricultural e-commerce is only a major feature of “Internet+” modern agriculture in the agricultural field, and “Internet+” modern agriculture has also achieved initial results in agricultural Internet of Things and agricultural information services. On the agricultural Internet of Things, the Ministry of Agriculture has implemented the Application Demonstration Project and Regional Testing Project for National Agricultural Internet of Things in Beijing, Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia and other eight provinces (districts and municipalities) successively, widely used agricultural Internet of Things technology in the facility agriculture, the development of livestock and aquaculture, the cultivation of field crops, the quality safety traceability of agricultural products and other aspects, and summed up more than 200 mature scale application mode, which has a significant effect on the saving of water, pesticide, fertilizer, labor force and other aspects.

It’s reported that the Ministry of Agriculture will focus on promoting the "Internet+" modern agriculture from four aspects in the next step: in the production link, focus on implementing the Application Testing and Demonstration Project for Agricultural Internet of Things, greatly promoting technology and patterns of Internet of Things, and continuously expanding the scale of Internet of Things application; in the operation link, greatly promote the development of agricultural e-commerce, and focus on agricultural products especially fresh agricultural products and means of agricultural products, to promote to form the new pattern of bidirectional flow between agricultural products entering city and means of agricultural products and consumer goods to the countryside; in the management link, strengthen the application of big data technique innovation; in the service link, accelerate information entering villages and peasant households.
