The Food Safety Law of China newly amended recently proposes to establish whole-process food traceability system in the level of country, which puts forward new requirements for guaranteeing safety of whole food industrial chain, and provides a lock for safety of food packaging industry.

Multiple supermarkets have pushed forward the service to trace food source by scanning 2D bar code in fresh food market. Although media exposed some 2D bar codes have problems such as counterfeit or incomplete traceability information, in general, 2D bar codes, the identification of food packaging which mark information of place of origin, storage, transportation, processing and sales, are the general trend to ensure food safety for consumers.
