Recently, relevant person in charge of China Food and Drug Administration said China will finish national food safety standard integration by the end of the year, and will basically build a national standard system for food safety comprised of over 1100 food safety standards. By then, the food safety standards in China will be reduced to 1/5 compared with former standards formulated by each ministry and commission.

At present, China has sorted out nearly 5000 food standards, and released 492 new national food safety standards.
