Imported food is not that ‘rosy’. In ‘(The 6th) High-level Dialogue for Food Safety in China for 2015’Forum, Bi Kexin, Deputy Director General of Import and Export Food Safety Bureau under AQSIQ released the data unveiling that entry and exist inspection and quarantine institutions countrywide detected 1255 batches or 4960 tons of imported food in breach of national norms on food safety and legal or law requirements, around half of which is contaminated by over-proof food additives, microbial contamination and over-proof contaminant.
