It is reported by the news and newspapers summary of Voice Of China that the Ministry of Agriculture stated that the safety assessment on transgene in our country is more rigorous than that in Europe and America, and genetically modified staple crops which has passed the safety assessment will not be made industrialization in a short term.

Three principles are generally adopted for the safety assessment on transgene internationally, i.e. doctrine of equivalents, case analysis and progressive elaboration. Zhang Xianfa, the deputy director of the Office of Genetically Modified Organisms Safety Management of the Ministry of Agriculture, stated that the safety assessment on transgene in our country is more rigorous than the above mentioned principles.
