The General Office of the State Council currently released 2016
Arrangement on Food Safety to deploy key work in food safety in 2016.
The Arrangement clarifies 11 key tasks in food safety in 2016: to
accelerate perfecting laws and regulations of food safety, complete food safety
standard system, strengthen edible agricultural product source governance,
strengthen risk prevention measures, highlight comprehensive treatment of key
problems, tighten responsibilities of production and operation entities, keep strict
punishment for criminals, enhance food safety supervision capacity development,
implement food safety accountability system, promote shared governance of food
safety, and perfect uniform and authorized supervision system.
