In order to implement the Food Safety Law, normalize network food transaction and guarantee network food safety, on July 13, 2016, Bi Jingquan, the Director General of China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) signed No. 27 Decree “Investigation Method for Network Food Safety Violation” (hereinafter referred to as the Method). The method will be implemented from Oct. 1, 2016, and contains the following:

The first is to strengthen obligation of platform and network food producer and operators;

The second is to break down specific situations of serious illegal acts;

The third is to clarify governance of illegal act;

The fourth is to strengthen responsibilities of investigation and treatment;

The fifth is to break down sampling procedures;

The sixth is to clarify responsibilities negotiation; and

The seventh is to strengthen legal responsibilities.
