Nuts Import Grows Rapidly in Guangxi: Three Requirements for Imported Nuts to Enter the Chinese Market

In order to eradicate low and bad quality nuts, Guangxi Province sets three requirements in the aspect of inspection and quarantine to guarantee the good quality.

A large amount of nuts from Vietnam and other countries are imported in Guangxi Province to supply to domestic consumers. The largest port for Vietnamese nuts in China is Shukou, Guangxi Province. According to relevant statistics, 75% cashews imported from Vietnam are sold to China via Shuikou Port.

Data shows in 2015, about 172,000t nuts imported by fair among the inhabitants of border areas via Shuikou Port are imported in 2015, with value of about RMB 4.5 Billion.

Before arrival, the imported nuts shall be reported to inspection and quarantine department for inspection via BIQ system, and accept on-situ inspection at port by inspection and quarantine department, including inspection of transportation tools, packing and label, quantity, weight and quality, as well as bill of lading verification.
