Recently, the State Council issued the “13th Five-year Plan” for the Country's Scientific and Technological Progress (hereinafter referred to as the Plan) to clarify overall ideas, development objective, main tasks and significant measures for scientific and technological innovation in the “13th Five-year Plan”. The Plan is the key specialized planning of China in scientific and technological innovation field, and the action guidance for China to enter innovative countries. CFDA actively participated in preparation of the Plan in the early stage, systematically sorted out science and technology demands of food and drug security, strengthened communication and coordination with Ministry of Science and Technology, guaranteed food and drug safety contents being included in the Plan, and pointed out objective and direction for food and drug safety science and technology in next five years
