As said by Bi Jingquan, the Director of Food Safety Committee Office of the State Council and Director General of China Food and Drug Administration, China will perfect legal system supporting food safety.

It is known that the newly revised food safety law was officially implemented from Oct. 1 last year.

Bi said the Food Safety Office of the State Council will actively cooperate with relevant units including NPC Commission of Legislative Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture, and Legal Affairs Office of the State Council to revise agricultural product quality safety law and other supporting administrative laws, regulations and standards of food safety law.
