The 2016 Council Meeting and the Fourth Award-giving Meeting for National Nut Science and Technology Progress Award was held in Longzhou County from Nov. 14 to Nov. 16. About 300 entrepreneurs in China and Viatnam Nuts Industry gathered in Longzhou. The meeting deliberated and passed matters such as council member regulation list and amendment of articles of associations, discussed major plans for development of nuts industry, and commended 2015-2016 National Nut Science and Technology Progress Award, Advanced Workers, Excellent Technicians in Nuts Industry. China and Vietnam signed memo for cooperation on nuts. The meeting effectively boosts Longzhou County to create the largest nuts trade and processing deal base in China.

“China is a vast market. The cooperation memo is in favor of development of nut industry in China and Vietnam, and can promote employment and improve living standard of people”, said Professor Huang Huai, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Macadamia Association.

When journalist asked about the reason why the council meeting is arranged in Longzhou, Weng Yangyang, the Standing Vice-chairman of Specialized Committee for Nuts and Roasted Seeds of China National Food Industry Association said “Longzhou has favorable advantages for development of nuts industry. The border trading form in Longzhou allows synchronous development of border trading and industry. Further, CNSA will cooperate with Longzhou Government to boost targeted poverty alleviation in Longzhou by purchasing from Longzhou, introducing enterprises to invest in Longzhou, and developing nuts industrial chain.”
