For years, Chuxiong State has insisted on developing walnuts as important industry helping mountainous people to increase income and become rich; greatly implementing walnut intensive operation according to local situations and advantages, promoting fine varieties and improving development level depending on scientific and technological progress. The walnut planting area, output, quality and benefits keep improving, and effectively push industrial development. At present, the walnut planting area of the entire state has reached 5.69million mu, and per capita planting area of farmer reached 3mu.
　　By the end of last year, total output of walnut industry in Chuxiong State reached 4.01 Billion Yuan, accounting for 30% of total output of forestry; 24 scale processing enterprises have been developed, which realized industrial output of 2.294 Billion Yuan.
