On June 19, “GSGH-1026”, a new peanut variety introduced by National Peanut Engineering Technology Research Center Hainan Station of Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences Coconut Institute, was planted successfully in Wenchang test base. Two seasons can be planted in one year. By estimate, fresh fruit output of single season per mu reaches 600kg.

As introduced, Hainan currently owns 600,000mu peanut planting area; the fresh fruit yield of old varieties is about 350kg. The new variety introduced realizes mechanical operation from planting to harvest. The technology system has now started popularizing in Hainan in large area to improve land utilization rate, relieve labor force and increase income of growers.
