On July 19, it is learned from Akesu Prefecture Bureau of Forestry that the walnut grafting has finished completely in this year. Totally 3.39 million walnut trees are grafted in 252,000mu in the region.

The varieties of walnuts grafted are mainly Wen185 and Xinxin 2#, with some Zha343 and Xinfeng; the scions are mainly from local townships. Totally 3731 grafting persons are engaged, which comprise farmer technicians in each county (city).

Among walnut trees grafted in each county (city), the number in Wensu County is the largest, totally 1.4189 million trees covering an area of 57,300mu are grafted, followed by Xinhe County, where finished 377,000 trees covering 46,000mu. The grafting area of walnut in other county and city is respectively 10000-40000mu.
