On July 17, 2017,
the “Ministry of Health and Welfare” in Taiwan
issued the Principles for Inspection and Registration
Review of Healthy Food (WSSZ No. 1061300590), which is not only the basis
for review of healthy food, but also asks for opinions to the public to push
inspection and registration of healthy food. Totally 25 points are revised,
mainly as follows:
1. For relevant
products, document quality, test quality and theoretical requirements shall be
provided, attaching with relevant documentary evidences (animal protection,
physical health and radiation safety certificate) to improve application
quality;
2. The validity
period for appraisal test report, heath care function component authentication
report, safety test report, health inspection report, and nutrient component
analysis report shall be clarified, and the reports shall be verified by
complete original data, which shall not be deleted arbitrarily.
3. Product safety
classification and requirements for appraisal test dose shall be marked for reference
of laboratory to carry out tests.
4. The documents,
safety requirements and control variants attached to eating research of human
body shall be marked to guarantee safety of testee and improve reliability of
the appraisal test.
5. The uncertain
health care function can be reviewed firstly according to Guidance on Proposal Application and Operation of Healthy Food Health
Efficacy Appraisal Method.
6. The product
efficacy shall be propagandized based on efficacy appraisal test. The human
body and animal test results shall be marked respectively for such test and
consumers shall clearly know information marked.
7. The health food
formula shall be designed with limit regulations, and meanwhile considering
product nutritious value.
