China Nuts and Seeds Industry Development League Peanut Branch (Peanut League), since foundation in April 2016, has actively carried out work in scientific breeding, plantation, means of production, equipment, and processing and commercial retailing in national peanut industry, and praised and welcomed by the industry and enterprises. The survey of Peanut League on Xinjiang peanut producing area is a significant work carried out since foundation, and an important step to gather powers and build China from the large peanut producing country to a great peanut power.

The survey group, led by Song Zhenghai, Xinjiang Beihe Peanut Cooperatives and under high emphasis of local government, ended the survey in Xinjiang. After a few days of survey, the survey group truly believed the high quality peanut base of China is in Xinjiang and felt the vast prospect and great development potential of peanut industry in Xinjiang.

The development of peanut industry in Xinjiang has the following unique advantages:

1. The dry weather, sufficient sunlight and high effective accumulative temperature throughout the year in Xinjiang provide optimal conditions for growing of high quality peanuts; it is difficult to generate aflatoxin;

2. Xinjiang adopts globally advanced dripping technology for land irrigation, which not only saves water but also resists from natural disasters;

3. Xinjiang is used to plough farmland in autumn, and weather is cold in winter, so basically there is no soil pests and diseases; little pesticide is applied during growing process of peanut, so that peanuts in Xinjiang have no pesticide residue;
    4. The high mechanical level, leveled plot, even geology and large single-plot area helps application of advanced peanut machines;

5. Plantation technology is standard, scaled and modern. Particularly, the cooperative plantation organization mode has become the unique “high-yield mode of Xinjiang peanuts”. Facts prove the plantation mode of cooperatives can not only greatly reduce input cost, but also improve yield of 20%-40%. The quality superiority is obvious.

Analysis on prospect of peanut market in Xinjiang:
    1. Natural weather conditions are outstanding, natural disaster prevention ability is strong, and land resources are abundant- land area suitable to grow peanuts is over 20 million mu; the scaled and mechanical plantation cost is lower, and overall plantation advantage is obvious;
    2. After peanut quality inspection in Xinjiang for years, neither aflatoxin nor pesticide residual is detected. With high oil yield, high sugar content and good taste, Xinjiang is the base of green and organic high quality peanut raw materials and products;
    3. The “Belt and Road” initiative creates preconditions for export of high quality peanuts to EU; not only transportation cost is saved, more preferential policies of the government can be acquired, conforming to national policies.
