In recent years, Longzhou County greatly brings border and ecological advantages into full play to greatly develop industry of macadamia nuts, urge economic development of rural areas and accelerate people to get rid of poverty and become rich. According to statistics, the county has accumulatively planted 39,000mu macadamia nut tree, in which 26,000mu was planted in 2016 and 15,000mu will be planted in 2017 after the Autumn; 875 mu trees have entered primary fruit stage and 300mu have entered full fruiting period.

It is known that in order to accelerate cultivation of new economic growth point, Longzhou County proposed to newly grow macadamia tree of over 100,000mu during the “13th five year plan”; meanwhile, it will further bring advantages of border, port, resource, domestic and overseas markets and two resources to full play, accelerate construction of Longzhou Border Economic Cooperation Zone led by nuts production and processing industry. By 2020, the entire country shall process 400,000t nuts with output value of CNY 30 billion, and build Longzhou to the largest nut import base, the largest nut processing base and the largest nut trade base in China.
