The other day, Technical Team of Yunnan Macadamia, the Chairman Company of Yunnan Macadamia Society came to Mengsheng Town, Cangyuan County to provide technical guidance to local growers. On the training site, Allen, the expert of nuts plantation from Australia explained technologies of macadamia plantation, fertilization, trimming and pest control prevention and control. The field training is welcomed by Va people. Growers attending the training said the field guidance services not only solved worries about nuts plantation but also enhanced confidence in getting rid of poverty and getting rich by growing macadamia.

In recent ten years, Yunnan Macadamia Society and Yunnan Macadamia have organized dozens of field training for plantation technologies by foreign experts.

Data released by Australian Macadamia Society shows in past five years, the export volume of macadamia nuts to China is increased from 1294t to 16311t, rising 11.6 times. By the end of 2016, the Chinese market takes 32% share of global export market of macadamia nuts, and China has become the largest Australian macadamia importer in Asia and even in the world. In the meantime, Yunnan will become an important source of supply of macadamia. A popular saying in the industry is “China is the important world nut market while Yunnan is the important nuts producing area in China”.

With communication deepens, Yunnan Macadamia Society exchanged membership certificate officially with Australian Macadamia Society on October 20, 2016, carried out comprehensive cooperation and exchanged membership, and as honorable members mutually with Southern African Macadamia Growers’ Association on April 13, 2017. The mutual membership marks close partnership between Yunnan and Australia and South Africa, and they will cooperate in fields of efficient macadamia growing, processing trade, market expansion and industrial information, and jointly strive to improve brand value of macadamia nuts and improve market share of macadamia nuts in world nuts market.

It's particularly worth mentioning that the 2018 International Macadamia Nuts Conference will be held in Lincang City, Yunnan Province. This is the first time to hold the conference in China.
