It is learned from Zhejiang Yiwu Inspection and Quarantine Bureau the other day that since July this year Yiwu Port has successively imported dry nuts including cashew nuts, dried Longan, macadamia nuts and pecans, totally 40 batches and 1359t; the value of goods exceeded USD 7 Million. Macadamia from Australia and Pecan from South Africa were imported by Yiwu Port for the first time.

High-grade nuts are more popular among Chinese due to enrichment of unsaturated fatty acid and microelements such as Ca, P and Fe, and anti-aging and arteriosclerosis-preventing function. Importers introduced the imported dry nuts are raw primary agricultural products, and can be sold after further deep processing. Thus, they import nuts in advance to prepare for Spring Festival.
