The reporter learned from Yiwu Exit-Entry Inspection & Quarantine Bureau yesterday that, Yiwu port imported a batch of badam from US a few days ago. According to the report, this was the first time that such port imported the dry shelled badam. Such batch of badam had 2 standard containers in total with the weight of 41 tons and value of USD220,000.

Since this was the first time for the Yiwu port to import the US badam, the quarantine officers of Yiwu Exit-Entry Inspection & Quarantine Bureau have completed well the port inspection & quarantine and service preparations: 1. Completed well the communication and coordination with the importer in advance and explained carefully the import flow of dry fruit & nut food and informed it of relevant requirements; 2. Collected in advance the epidemic situation of the export country, combined previous intercepted data of the pest of such product type and improved the pertinence of the onsite inspection; 3. After the enterprise provided relevant inspection declaration materials, examined and approved relevant documents immediately and inspected the goods immediately after the goods arrived at the port. After the goods passed the quarantine, the quarantine officers transacted immediately the clearance procedures, guaranteeing the timely customs clearance of the goods.
