Chinese Food Development Conference themed “New Era, New Consumption and New
Retail” was held in Beijing.
At the conference, Wei Zichuan, Director & Executive Vice President of
Xinhuanet, expressed that, the food industry has started a top-down inside-out
profound change. In the sales end, the new-generation consumption group is
changing the traditional marketing pattern with the fresh values and the new
consumption pattern is on the rise.
In recent years, the food industry in China
has been adapted actively to the new normal of economic development, maintained
the stable healthy development with the impetus of rigid demand &
consumption upgrade, adjusted & optimized constantly the industrial
structure and accelerated the transformation and upgrade. In 2016, the assets
of the food industry accounted for 7.1% of the assets of the national industry;
the main business income accounted for 10.4%; the total profit amount accounted
for 12.0%. The food industry continues playing the important role of pillar
industry in the aspects such as the protection of people’s livehood,
consumption stimulation, promotion of economic & social development, etc.
