On May 8, 2017, Minister Carlos of Ministry of Agriculture of Mexico China
Office and his delegation visited CNSA, and carried out preliminary negotiation
on further promoting import and export of nuts and pecans between China and
Mexico. Weng Yangyang, the executive vice chairman of CNSA, and personnel from
Technology Department and Marketing Department received them.
Minister Carlos said Mexico is the world largest pecan exporter and the
second largest pecan producing country, while the China-oriented export ways of
Mexico pecans are carrying trade (Hong Kong and Macao). Therefore, he wished to
strengthen direct import/export mode between China and Mexico. In recent years,
the tariff for agricultural trade between the two countries is further lower,
providing favorable opportunity for both sides to increase trades.
Weng Yangyang expressed her gratitude toward Minister Carlos for their
visit. As the world largest nuts market and processing base, China also wished
to increase pecan trade directly imported from Mexico, and meanwhile suggested
Ministry of Agriculture of Mexico strengthen information communication about
nuts industry by participating in exhibition meeting, face-to-face
communication so as to set up favorable mutual-trust relationship and push trade
cooperation of both two countries.
Both sides reached consensus on promoting trade cooperation, strengthening
industrial communication and setting up mutual-trust relation.
