“2017 National Nuts and Roasted Seeds Industry Council (Enlarged) Meeting” organized by China National Food Industry Association (“the Association”) was held on October 20-25, 2017 in Meihekou City, Jilin Province. This Council Meeting was undertaken by the people's government of Meihekou, Jilin. Representatives attending this Meeting include: The executive president, vice president and all council members of the Association; leaders of the related departments of the people's government of Meihekou, the people's government of Longzhou County, Guangxi, and the people's government of Lincang County, Yunnan as well as leaders of the related cities and counties of Jilin Province; the related departments attending this Meeting include the three departments of China Food and Drug Administration, Food Safety Quality Inspection and Testing Institute of Jilin Province as well as national nut associations and enterprise representatives of America, Russia, Vietnam, Pakistan and other countries, which have a total of more than 500 people attending the Meeting.

During this Council Meeting, the President’s Working Meeting was held on October 23 and the main contents include: 1. The deliberation and adjustment on the list of council members; 2. Summary of the work in 2017 and proposal of the working ideas in 2018; 3. Discussion on key points: suggestions on the road to internationalization of Chinese nuts and roasted seeds industry, arrangement on 2018 Chinese nuts and roasted seeds exhibition, and reform scheme of 9.17 Chinese nuts fit week; 4. Selection on the membership conditions and measures of dealers; 5. Establishment of Chinese nuts and seeds industry alliance, walnut alliance, macadamia nut alliance and international nut working group and holding of Chinese Session of 2018 World Macadamia Nut Conference and other matters. The above matters are agreed upon and submitted to the Council after approval.

On October 23, Chinese Pine Seed Industry Seminar was held. There are a total of 230 people attending the seminar, including enterprise representatives of domestic pine seed planting, processing and purchasing as well as national nut associations and enterprise representatives of America, Russia, Vietnam, Pakistan and other countries. The main contents of the seminar include: 1. Broadcasting of pine seed industry feature programme of Meihekou City; 2. 2017-2018 Analysis and forecast report on Chinese pine seeds (nuts) by the Executive Member of the Council of the Association, Pan Mingliaing; 3. Reporting and Speaking on the theme by the representatives present at the meeting.

On October 24, 2017 National Nuts and Roasted Seeds Industry Council (Enlarged) Meeting was held and its main contents include:

1. The Mayor of Meihekou City deliver an opening speech;

2. The Association awarded the title of Chinese Pine Seed Industry Trade and Processing Demonstration Zone to Meixiangkou City, Jilin, and  held a awarding ceremony on the site;

3. The Executive Vice President of the Association, Weng Yangyang made Work Report on 2018 National Nuts and Roasted Seeds Industry - New Targets of New Era;

4. The representatives present at the meeting visited the comprehensive pine seed processing enterprise and food industrial park of Meihekou City.

In the afternoon of the meeting, the leaders of China Food and Drug Administration conducted analysis and policy interpretation for the national nuts and roasted seeds quality sampling inspection in the first half of 2017.

The Vice President of the Association, Chen Yuxiu made a report on Suggestions on Road to Internationalization of Chinese Nuts and Roasted Seeds Industry. Each product working group of the Association released 2017-2018 analysis and forecast report on Chinese nut and seed products about the pecan, walnut, almond and pine seed.

At the exchange link of international nut market information, American Almond (Badam) Association and American Pecans Association respectively released the analysis and forecast on the current situations and trends of badam and pecans and the marketing plan of 2018 in Chinese market.
