In the
afternoon of Nov. 15, 2017, Weng Yangyang, Executive Vice Chairman, and Yang
Qian, Secretary General of Specialized Committee for Nuts and Roasted Seeds of
China National Food Industry Association (hereinafter referred to as CNSA) met
Mr. Ryan
Scott, Agricultural Consul of Consulate General of the United States, Shanghai
in Shanghai. Both sides talked friendly and honestly.
First, Mr. Ryan Scott said he is
the first Shanghai-stationed Agricultural Consul of the US after President
Trump took office. The meeting took place when President Trump just ended
visiting China, and it is of great significance. The consul spoke highly of mutual
visit, communication and cooperation between nuts industries in China and the
US and achievements made for promotion of nuts industry development. He said US
values and is optimistic about Chinese nuts market.
Weng Yangyang,
the Executive Vice Chairman, introduced general situations of CNSA to the new
consul, and work to be carried out next year. Weng particularly mentioned to
revise imported nuts standards next year and further normalize and improve
quality of imported nuts; meanwhile, Weng introduced current situations of
China as the largest nuts market in the world, and said China is open-minded
and confident for development prospect of nuts industry and market in China.
Both sides said
they would follow the way of win-win cooperation pointed out by the highest
leaders of China and the US. Both sides will, based on the favorable
cooperation in nuts field, further strengthen cooperation and expand mutual
communication and learning in fields of plantation and technology.
Lastly, the new
consul issued invitation to CNSA and invited China nuts industry to visit the
USA.
