On June 25, The carya pecan trees which were just planted in the spring are alive on both sides of Shenyang-Haikou Expressway Jiangsu Xiangshui section. As introduced by Liu Hongyan, the Director General of Xiangshui County Forestry Bureau, Xiangshui County made full use of the golden period for forestation, and pushed construction of key projects such as 10000mu carya pecan base, 10000mu economic fruit forest industrial belt, and 10000mu Chinese herb industrial belt and speeded up implementation of the “a piece of forest” strategic project.   

In recent years, Xiangshui County takes the “a piece of forest” construction as the primary project, insists on combining afforestation with agricultural structure adjustment, environment improvement and making people prosperous in accordance with the “colorful, precious and beneficiary” requirements, and strives to realize the triple-win pattern of economic benefits, economic benefits and social benefits. So far, the county has planted nearly 200,000 carya pecan trees, covering an area of 12000mu.

The “a piece of forest” construction in Xiangshui insists on “substantial operation, project-oriented construction, and administrative promotion”. Only in this spring, the county newly added 3000mu forest in the planning zone, and over 10000mu new forest is planted in the entire year. The forest coverage rate is stable above 27%. It strives to build an important carya pecan base in China, drive the promotion of the “a piece of forest” strategy and allow the favorable ecology to become rural revitalization supporting point.
