In recent years, Wuyuan County has actively encouraged the powerful sunflower-seed foreign-trade enterprises to explore the international market, and the foreign trade business of sunflower-seed kernel products has shown a steady and stable growth trend. Up to now, there are 29 seed export processing enterprises in Wuyuan County. The export products mainly include sunflower seeds, shellless pumpkin seeds and black melon seeds. Products are exported to the Middle East, Europe and the United States, Japan and South Korea and other countries and regions.    

In the first half of this year, Wuyuan County realized 60,981 tons of self-operated exports of sunflower seed and kernel products, with an increase of 117.7% on a year-on-year basis; the self-operated exports of sunflower seed and kernel products reached US$78.86 million, with an increase of 135.2% on a year-on-year basis, accounting for 97.6% of the total self-operated exports by the county in the first half of this year.
