Carya cathayensis is mainly produced in the southern foot
of Tianmu mountain area centered on Changhua in Lin An city, Zhejiang province.
It is the most important origin of pecan in Lin An city. Lin An’s
superior ecological environment and geographical advantages, suitable climatic
conditions and long cultivation history provide great space for the development
of hickory. Lin An hickory is famous for its large grain, thin shell, good
quality, crisp and delicious kernel. Lin An now has a total area of 460,000 mu of hickory, with annual output
of over 10,000 tons. Annual processing capacity is 16000
tons.
