Lanzhou Customs said on Aug.27 that 23t red date products made in
Dunhuang, Jiuquan, Gansu Province are successfully exported to Turkey after
passing quarantine of Dunhuang Airport Customs subordinated to Lanzhou Customs.
This is the first time that Dunhuang red dates entered European market.
Statistics
show since this year Dunhuang has exported red dates and melons to Canada,
Turkey, Cambodia and Thailand respectively. Characteristic agricultural
products are expanding export market continuously.
Dunhuang,
well-known for the “Dunhuang Caves”, “Dunhuang fresco” and “Crescent Moon
Spring”, is an important node city on the ancient Silk Road. As introduced by
authority of Dunhuang officially, Dunhuang started agricultural development
4000 years ago. Dunhuang is surrounded by Gobi Desert, with long sunshine time
and large diurnal temperature variation. Fruits planted in sandy soil are
highly sweet and suffering less plant diseases and insect pests. It becomes the
best area for high quality and safe fruits production.
Lanzhou
Customs said since this year Dunhuang Airport Customs surveyed in enterprises
and fields to lower impact of epidemic and help foreign trade enterprises to
resume work; they helped foreign trade enterprises in Dunhuang to develop overseas
market, expand marketing channel of characteristic agricultural products and
allow foreign trade enterprises and farmers to increase yield and income by
integrating “guidance, cultivation and services”.
